An ORCiD profile is connected to an individual, not an institution and this link does not change that; but it can help to streamline updates to profiles in Symplectic. For example, ORCiD accounts can be linked to a variety of other sources including MLA BibLink and arXiv as well as Dimensions and other profile tools such as Scopus Author ID and ResearcherID to draw in relevant information.  An ORCiD account can also make it easier to add publications when importing from sources such as Google Scholar.  - See more at: http://www.research-information.admin.cam.ac.uk/news/get-yourself-connected#sthash.oj4sawtI.dpuf

System Updates Complete

Thank you for your patience during this period of work. The system is now fully operational again, including Open Access and Dataset uploads using the big red button. If you had submitted papers to Apollo prior to 2017 and these had not appeared in your profile, then you may find that they have arrived now. For any queries about these items please contact info@openaccess.cam.ac.uk

Upgrade Successful - 5.5 introduces more automatic claiming

Symplectic Elements has been upgraded to version 5.5. In the new version, Elements is looking actively not just for articles but for the identifiers like ORCID and Scopus IDs that you may have configured elsewhere and will suggest them to you and your delegates. To get to these suggestions go to Menu>Manage>Publications>Automatic Claiming.

Open Access uploads are now completed through Elements

Login to Elements to upload your papers and make them Open Access. The Open Access Team will check your funder and journal policies and advise on how to comply with REF and other funder Open Access requirements. If you have already sent your paper to the Open Access Team you don't need to do it again. More information is available from the Open Access Team.

Changes to Professional activities module - ongoing
We are making some improvements and additions to the professional activities module, and while we do this you may notice that some categories are temporarily unavailable or pre-existing material disappears from view. Please bear with us while this work is underway. Information about the new framework can be found on our Moodle course here.
